'I've heard from people' - Celtic pundit drops big Kyogo update; shares if he can play v Rangers

Celtic pundit Frank McAvennie has dropped an update on Kyogo Furuhashi prior to the international break, as per Football Insider.

Eagle-eyed Hoops supporters noticed during the week that the 27-year-old was out training by himself at Lennoxtown with a ball at his feet.

Ange Postecoglou has since claimed that Furuhashi, who has been missing due to a hamstring issue, may even turn out against Rangers at the beginning of April.

Celtic ensured that they would remain top of the Premiership heading into the trip to Ibrox with a 4-0 win over Ross County on Saturday, but prior to that match, McAvennie had some good news when it came to Furuhashi.

The Celtic pundit and former Parkhead striker was talking to Football Insider regarding Furuhashi’s return to training.

“It would be great because we play them three times in a month, it would be magnificent.

“The guys who are in there at the moment will cause problems for Rangers and Kyogo is better than them, no disrespect to the other guys.

“You want to see your best players back, nobody has said anything about this injury for a while.

“To see him back in training is magnificent. I’ve heard from people who know he will be back in the next few weeks, in time for the Rangers games.

“I hope that’s true because we will win them if he plays.”

Furuhashi’s presence back in the squad following the international break would be huge for Celtic, giving them a major boost in the final stretch of the season.

He remains the Hoops’ top scorer despite playing 18 games fewer than Liel
