'I used Amazon's viral £4 gradual tan for a week - now I don't need to book a holiday'

As someone with very fair skin, I never ever tan. Even after applying factor 50 I typically go pink and then red after spending any time in the sun during the summer. The winter is even worse, when the weather is miserable I'm typically one of the palest foundation shades.

I'm not a massive fan of tan mouse, especially since it typically leaves faint red streaks on my bedding, but I've discovered a way to get the perfect summer glow even in the middle of winter - without the dreaded orange bed sheets. The product? A budget-friendly Amazon buy.

Costing £4.25, the Dove's Summer Revived Gradual Tanning Lotion is much cheaper than my usual go-to tan. Bondi Sands' tan costs almost £18 when it's not on sale, so I was more than happy to make the swap.

I opted for the light to medium bottle, as I didn’t want to wake up and have turned into Ross from Friends. I decided to use the bottle for a week, using it three times as I didn’t want to completely use it up in one go, MyLondon reports.

During my first application, I noticed that it was super easy to apply. It was fast-absorbing and felt like soft butter on my body. It’s also suitable for all skin types and its been dermatologically tested, leaving a very nourishing feeling.

The smell was also divine. Its sumptuously rich texture contains a formula that is enriched with caramel, and doesn’t smell of biscuits like Bondi Sands. I felt like I had experienced the luxury of a spa day without leaving the front door.

I woke up the next morning and immediately noticed a difference in my skin tone. The colour was natural, but not too orange. But most importantly it was a sun-kissed, glowy tan with no streaks in sight.
