‘I understand’ – Journalist drops massively exciting summer transfer news for West Ham fans

According to journalist Dean Jones (via Give Me Sport), West Ham’s hierarchy have made an ‘absolute promise’ to manager David Moyes over the summer transfer window.

Hammers fans suffered a painful January transfer window as the club failed to add any new additions to Moyes’ first-team, despite sustaining a multitude of injuries during the opening half of the season.

The east London club were expected to bring in a new central defender after Angelo Ogbonna suffered a cruciate ligament rupture, with Marseille’s Duje Caleta-Car looking a likely replacement. However, the Irons were too stubborn in their negotiations over a loan or permanent move and the deal fell through.

Sebastien Haller’s exit over a year ago has left Michail Antonio as the only recognised striker at the club, yet attacking reinforcements failed to arrive for the third consecutive window. A club-record £60 million bid was rejected by Benfica for Darwin Nunez, much to the disappointment of Hammers fans.

According to Jones (via Give Me Sport), West Ham’s hierarchy have made an ‘absolute promise’ to Moyes over the upcoming summer transfer window.

Speaking to GiveMeSport, he proclaimed:

“And then I think, from what I understand, that there’s an absolute promise that in the summer, they attack the market properly and they really do give him (Moyes) what he wants, and they work closely together to make sure it happens.”

With a top four finish and Champions League qualification in sight, Hammers fans will be praying that the club have not missed the opportunity to be in the race for some of Europe’s top talents.
