"I turtley love you" - sea life fans can win the chance to propose at Manchester aquarium

Ever wanted to pop the question at the bottom of the ocean as tropical fish zip around your ankles, but without the whole ‘struggling for air’ business? Well now, one lucky pair of sole mates will be able to do just that.

Manchester’s Sea Life attraction is offering the opportunity to win a ‘private proposal’ among the sharks and other marine creatures. The winner will get the aquarium to themselves after hours to pledge their undying love.

Potential locations include the underwater tunnel or the ocean viewing platform, which will be specially and romantically decked out for the occasion. There’s even the option to have a diver sent into the depths with a personalised sign, should the gravity of the event render you silent.

The couple will be allowed to have up to six guests with them, and in the lead up to the main event - and perhaps to throw the future bride or groom off the scent - they’ll be able to get the full VIP ‘Sharks After Dark’ experience, a tour of the facilities sharks given by a marine expert.
