'I tried the £56 Chinese takeaway that Jack Grealish eats after EVERY Man City game'

When you're a Premier League footballer running your famous calves up and down a field for 90 minutes, it's little surprise you need a big pile of carbs to recover with afterwards. Although when Manchester City and England star Jack Grealish revealed his fuel-up of choice after a match the other week, it's fair to say it left a few eyebrows raised.

Jack shared his meal of choice after "every game" in a TikTok video on Man City's official account. In it he shared the Chinese takeaway he favours, which features egg-fried rice, salt and pepper prawns, a pile of noodles AND salt and pepper chips in a spectacular treble-carb mountain.

The good news is, he said he always goes to Manchester institution Wing's for this takeaway treat, which means we could go and sample this feast as well. The bad news? It's a rather expensive old takeaway when I priced it all up, but hey, in for a penny in for a pound (or 50).

In the video Jack said: "Yeah I love Chinese man after every game I get one. I go to Wing's in Manchester, I usually get a takeaway.

"I have Singapore chow mein, I have egg fried rice, I have salt and pepper chips, salt and pepper prawns, and then curry sauce. And then mix it all in, and have a big free for all in there."

It sounded like quite a plateful, so to test it out we rang up Wing's to see if we could order the same takeaway as Jack, which totted up to a slightly eye-watering £56.20. The restaurant is on Deliveroo, but only if you live within a certain distance of the city centre, so I arranged to collect my takeaway from the restaurant on Lincoln Square to take home.
