'I think that...' - Insider hints at major transfer development to come from Wolves this summer

Wolves midfielder Ruben Neves will leave the club this summer if they fail to qualify for Europe, according to transfer expert Dean Jones.

The 25-year-old has matured into a truly formidable midfielder, arguably standing out as one of the best players in his position in the Premier League this season.

The 5 foot 11 maestro has scored four goals and registered two assists in the league, not to mention averaging 2.4 tackles and 1.3 interceptions per game, showing an all-round arsenal of skills any club would be lucky to boast in their midfield.

He has been linked with various moves away in recent times, however, heightening the worries of Wolves fans as we approach the summer transfer window.

Speaking to Give Me Sport, Jones, a ‘transfer insider‘, claimed Neves would likely move on if European football wasn’t secured at Molineux in May:

“His quality is undoubted, and I think that if they don’t qualify for Europe then it’ll probably be time to say goodbye.”

In truth, it is wholly understandable why Neves could look for a fresh challenge if Wolves miss out on Europe, with the midfielder wanting to test himself at the very top level.

While loyalty can sometimes be lacking in players, they do only have one career and someone of Neves’ ability may not want to spend his prime years at a club where he isn’t quite managing to reach his potential.

The hope is that Wolves secure a place in the Europa League, though – Champions League qualification isn’t even out of the question yet – in which case their brilliant playmaker could rethink his options.

In other news, a pundit has discussed a potential new deal for one Wolves player. Read more here.
