‘I’m told...’ – Tottenham insider reveals Paratici had another 'loan deal agreed' in January

Tottenham decided to keep Harvey White at the club for the rest of the season with just an hour of deadline day remaining, according to club insider John Wenham (via Football Insider).

Spurs saw far more outgoings than incomings during the January transfer window. This has been a boost for Daniel Levy in terms of the wage bill that Fabio Paratici will have to work with in the summer window, with the club expected to make a number of new signings.

20-year-old White was expected to leave the club for the rest of the season on loan. According to Dan Kilpatrick of the Evening Standard, Hull, Luton, Sunderland and Portsmouth were all interested in taking the defensive midfielder on a temporary deal in January.

However, it seems that this possibility was taken off the table by Levy and Spurs at the last minute.

According to Wenham (via Football Insider), Spurs decided to keep Harvey White at the club for the rest of the season with just an hour of deadline day remaining, despite Paratici already having a loan deal in place.

Speaking to Football Insider, he claimed: “From what I’m told, Tottenham had a loan deal agreed for White.

“Right up until one hour to go on deadline day, something was pencilled in.

“I don’t think Tottenham could believe their luck that they got rid of Lo Celso, Ndombele and Alli.

“We know that was the aim but in reality, I never thought all three would go.

“So now we are down three midfielders and I think that was unexpected.

“White is the most advanced of our academy players and to work with the first team for the next six months might be the best for him.

“He will be in there every day working with Hojbjerg and Bentancur which is exciting.”
