'I’m told’ - Insider shares big Rice update from ‘influential figures’ outside West Ham

Speaking to GiveMeSport, journalist and transfer ‘insider’ Dean Jones has shared a big update on Declan Rice from ‘influential figures’ outside West Ham United.

As per The Telegraph, after a disappointing Irons transfer window, big clubs in the Premier League have been put on alert over Rice’s situation with his teammates even fearing he could be tempted to leave.

The likes of Man City, Chelsea and Man United are apparently interested and weighing a move – coming after he rejected two offers to extend his current deal at West Ham last year.

Sharing an update on the latter side’s interest in Rice, Jones has shared some big news from ‘influential figures’ outside West Ham at Old Trafford.

As per his sources, speaking to GMS, the journalist says Man United are now tempted to reinvest Paul Pogba’s wages into the signing of Rice and club chiefs have ‘never been more convinced’ over signing the player.

“I’ve looked into the Declan Rice situation a bit further and Man United are tempted to invest Paul Pogba’s wages into a deal for him,” explained the reporter.

“We’re still some way from this transfer pursuit being pushed into action but there are a couple of influential figures at the club who, I’m told, have never been more convinced they should be signing him.”

The fourth-richest football club in the world with a valuation of $4.2 billion (£3.09 billion) according to Forbes, Manchester United are feasibly one of the few sides who could afford Rice’s rumoured £120m price tag.

Taking this into account, this new-found stance from ‘influential’ Old Trafford figures could be worrying for manager David Moyes as they eye a summer move.
