"I'm told..": Fabrizio Romano reveals Spurs transfer twist, supporters will be gutted - opinion

Fabrizio Romano has dropped an update on reported Tottenham Hotspur transfer target Jesse Lingard.

In a recent interview with GIVEMESPORT, the Italian journalist revealed that, despite a number of reports linking Fabio Paratici with a move for the former Manchester United forward this summer, he has been told that Antonio Conte is not currently prioritising a move for the 29-year-old.

The transfer insider went on to state that Spurs will first need to offload a number of unwanted first-team players in order for the Italian sporting director to consider making a move for the former England international.

When asked for an update on Tottenham’s pursuit of the attacker, Romano said: “It will depend on how they sell these players. Then they will wait for the market and see what the possibilities are. But I’m told Lingard is not a priority for Tottenham as of now.”
