"I'm sure" - Journalist drops major behind-scenes Everton claim involving Moshiri

Everton owner Farhad Moshiri could contemplate walking away from Goodison Park if the Toffees suffer the ‘big blow’ of relegation to the Championship, according to journalist Pete O’Rourke.

The Merseyside outfit are at serious risk of dropping out of the Premier League with the end of the season just a matter of weeks away.

Everton’s desperate bid to maintain their top flight status will continue when they head to the King Power Stadium to face Leicester City tomorrow.

The Toffees may have secured an eye-catching win over Chelsea last weekend, thanks to a Richarlison strike, but they are still two points adrift of safety.

Moshiri bought a 49.9 per cent stake in Everton more than six years ago and, having become the majority shareholder at Goodison Park, appointed Frank Lampard as the club’s new manager on deadline day of the January transfer window in an effort to stave off relegation.

O’Rourke believes relegation would leave Everton in a financial predicament and result in Moshiri having a big decision to make.
