'I'm confused' - Liverpool handed Man City warning as Premier League prediction made

Pundit and former Watford striker as fired Manchester City's title rivals a clear warning ahead of Sunday's clash against Liverpool at Anfield.

Pep Guardiola's side have now now gone six games without a win following Tuesday night's draw against Feyenoord in the Champions League. In the Premier League, they are eight points behind Liverpool and risk falling 11 points adrift if they're beaten on Sunday, but a victory against Arne Slot's side would put them back within touching distance.

Deeney, who previously represented Watford and Birmingham City as a player, explained why a huge clash against Liverpool, in which City are now underdogs for the first time, could be the perfect opportunity to bounce back.

"I think City are going to be better organised," Deeney told talkSPORT. "I think this is the perfect game for them. I know that's a weird thing to say.

"But Liverpool just beat Real Madrid, so their fans are expectant. But this is the first time Man City have been underdogs in a game for the betting companies. So everyone is writing them off.

"I think they will be more together, more solid. I can see them nicking it, 2-1."

The dynamics of the title race have altered somewhat as a result of City's drop in form, but Deeney believes writing the champions off is premature. Not least because they still boast the most devastating striker in the league.
