'I'm confident' - Thomas Frank gives Manchester United verdict ahead of Brentford fixture

Brentford head coach Thomas Frank has suggested the pressure will be off his players when they travel to Old Trafford to face Manchester United in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

United will resume their campaign with the ambition of putting the brakes on a five-game winless run. Their 0-0 draw with Aston Villa prior to the international break also marked a third successive league game without a goal. As a result, United have spent the second pause of the season sat 14th in the table, meaning manager Erik ten Hag is currently under more pressure than ever before.

But despite United's ongoing difficulties, Frank, who has been linked with the possibility of potentially succeeding Ten Hag at Old Trafford, has insisted the home side will head into the contest as favourites to scoop all three points.

"There are always up and downs in seasons for every team," Frank told Sky Sports. "Maybe Man United haven't had the best start, or the start they hoped for, but they have still got quality players that can produce decisive moments in any game.

"It is about how we keep them quiet as much as possible throughout the game. We will then see if we can put some things together, which I am confident that we can, of course.

"But we go to Old Trafford, against Man United, who are one of the biggest clubs in the world, and it is a massive challenge. They are favourites, but we believe in ourselves."

Brentford, who are currently three places and two points better off than United in the table, have not beaten the Reds away from home
