I'm confident of Hearts ticket stampede and 100 grand will go where it is needed most – Ryan Stevenson

Ann Budge and the Hearts board might be sweating on Hampden ticket sales over the next week or so.

But I’ve got faith they won’t need to dig into the club coffers and it will be all right on the night. I’m not surprised they’re a bit tetchy with 5000 or so briefs still to be sold for the Scottish Cup semi-final against Rangers and a bill coming their way if they don’t get punted.

It would be a sore one to be hit for 100 grand as it could come out of Steven Naismith ’s budget for next season. I just don’t think it will come to that, though. You can bet on Hearts fans being there in their numbers. I’m sure there will be a late rush and the majority of those tickets will be snapped up by punters.

Don’t forget, it’s been Easter holidays and – take it from me – families will have been stumping up fortunes to keep the kids entertained, especially as it has been tipping it down the whole time. I’ve still got some of my own tickets to get as I’ve had to tell folk it’s best to wait and see how much the kids have cost me!

I’ll get mine soon and there will surely be a late stampede. Hearts will need everyone on board and Naismith’s side deserve to be backed to the hilt in this one given all they have put into this season. I know it’s Rangers they are up against and the record against them this season has been painful. But I still think they have a realistic chance of causing an upset and making the showpiece. And that would turn a brilliant campaign into an incredible one.

You wouldn’t put it past them. Look at that win last weekend at St Mirren. It was a horrible day with gale force winds. Saints had a full house in party mode looking for the point they needed to make sure of the top six, while Hearts have third in the bag.
