Vincent Maneno, Co-founder and Director of Fast Courier, has warned people that there are five things you should never do when sending a parcel. One of which is a common mistake that we all forget to do.

Before we send parcels, many of us often make the mistake of not keeping evidence. Maneno warns: “Always weigh your packed items before you get to the Post Office, noting down the dimensions with a measuring tape, and keeping a photographic record. This will prevent any additional fees and charges when your items are measured at the depot.

"Additionally, when sending parcels through your local Post Office or scheduling a courier service online, opt for tracked or signed-for deliveries and ask for proof of receipts, as these will typically include the parcel weight and help keep track of your parcel’s status."

He adds that as boxes navigate the courier network, your packaged goods or gifts may still be at risk of damage or deformation. Therefore, maintaining a proof of record provides an additional safeguard for your items.

Remember to label your parcels accurately – ensure the names and addresses of both the sender and recipient are clearly marked to prevent any delivery mishaps or delays.
