I'm a dryrobe w****r and proud so keep taking your secret photos

Chances are you'll have seen the odd person wearing a dryrobe, or something like looks like one.

Over the last year or so the coats have become massively popular, especially in places as rainy as Manchester.

Worn by those active sorts who like to surf or enjoy open water swimming and the like, they're 'designed to let you get changed anywhere' - protecting you from the elements, while 'keeping you warm and dry in any climate'.

But they keep you so warm and dry that they've taken off with all kinds of people - especially dog walkers and parents watching kids play sport in the freezing temperatures.

With even the likes of Harry Styles spotted wearing one on the film set for My Policeman, I decided to give one of a try and have been pretty much inseparable from it ever since.

But more recently the coats have become a source of amusement for some people - largely members of the 100,000-member Dry robe w*****s Facebook group.

Many of those members have taken it upon themselves to take secret photos of people wearing the dryrobes and share them in the group.

Most of the posts involve making fun out of the wearers, mocking how far away they are from any sort of open water, which apparently might justify the existence of such apparel.

Only this week there have been photos of dryrobers in Bolton, Monton, Eccles and Trafford. One photo showing two women wearing them at The Trafford Centre was accompanied with the caption 'Spotted in Manchester browsing for a Rolex', while another taken near Primark said 'spotted at the Trafford Centre must be off to Sea Life for a quick dip'.

I have to say I was gobsmacked when my own photo appeared on there. Shared by Kiesha
