I’m A Celebrity fans ‘tear up’ as ‘relatable’ Sam Thompson opens up on ADHD diagnosis

I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! viewers praised Sam Thompson for opening up about his ADHD diagnosis during Thursday’s episode of the ITV show. The former Made In Chelsea star discussed what it was like living with the condition with Marvin Humes and Josie Gibson.

When Marvin asked about it, Sam shared that he had only been diagnosed last year. Describing what it was like living with ADHD, he said: “When the low bits happen it goes low. But then the highs are really high. My girlfriend Zara is so steady and it’s so good for me. When she’s going steady I’m going like that [miming wavy line]."

He added: “My time keeping is terrible. I get quite selfish, not just with her, with everyone, my mates or whatever. My listening to Zara… I’m just finding myself staring off at something completely different."

Josie said how he wouldn’t be Sam without it. Marvin added: “I would just always say you’ve got loads of energy. Your energy is crazy bro and it’s what makes you great.”

Fans took to X to praise the show for featuring the conversation. @manon_teifi said: ”I’m so glad #ImACeleb showed the clip of Sam Thompson talking about his ADHD with Marvin and Josie. That was such a lovely and important conversation. I hope people understand him a bit more now.”

@woahkana added: “sam talking about his adhd really was eye opening because it resonates with so many who probably haven’t even been diagnosed but feel a change inside of them and if you have any other sort of disability but that doesn’t define who you are it just makes you who you are”
