I’ll play for Super Eagles as long as it takes – Ola Aina

Super Eagles and Nottingham Forest defender, Ola Aina, has revealed that playing for Nigeria is an unmatched experience he wants to continue for a long time to come.

Aina is one of the Nigerian-born English boys who did not hesitate when the opportunity came to play for fatherland. He emerged EPL’s most consistent defender a few days ago.

Speaking to NBC Sports’ By Way of Africa series, Aina said: “It means a lot. It’s a big honour to play for the Super Eagles.

“Every time I put the jersey or t-shirt on, it’s a great feeling that can’t really be matched. It’s really nice. I love playing for Nigeria, and hopefully, I can keep on playing for Nigeria for many more years.”

He continues: “It is definitely worth it, and the journey is still going. It is something that I take pride in and great pleasure in because I’m really enjoying myself. The journey has been amazing, and there is nothing I would change about it.”

Aina, who is receiving interest from a lot of clubs following his form this season, said he is enjoying his game and has his parents to thank for their support.

“They have had to dedicate a lot of their time to [invest] in me, and I’m grateful for that. It is sort of paid off for them, so they are living happily ever after now.”
