"I know" - Transfer Insider now drops intriguing update on 56-cap Arsenal target

Arsenal target Gabriel Jesus is attracting interest from some of the biggest clubs on the continent, according to transfer insider Dean Jones.

The 25-year-old looks set to leave Manchester City this summer, but his next destination remains unclear for now.

The 56-cap international has just one year left on his contract at the Etihad Stadium, and he has made it clear that he will not be extending his deal.

Arsenal are very keen on the forward, and have made him their number one transfer target, as reported by The Athletic.

However, the Gunners’ north London rivals Tottenham have also been linked with Jesus, indicating that it will not be straightforward for Arsenal to sign him.

Jones does not necessarily think it will come down to a straight fight between Arsenal and Tottenham for Jesus’ signature.

He has also claimed that a couple of Spanish clubs could be interested, while also name-checking AC Milan as a team that may move for the striker.

Jones told GIVEMESPORT: “At the moment, there are other clubs around Europe being sounded out about his availability, about whether they would be interested. Real Madrid and Atletico, I’ve seen a link today, I know that AC Milan are in the background too. I think that is something that will appeal to Jesus. He was a Milan fan, I think, as a kid.”

If Milan are firmly interested in Jesus, then this certainly won’t help Arsenal’s cause.

The seven-time European Cup winners won their first Serie A title in 11 years last month, and they have been flying under Stefano Pioli over the last couple of seasons.

Jesus has won four titles since joining City, and he is likely to want to compete for the league again
