"I know...": Sky Sports reporter drops huge Leeds transfer update supporters will love - opinion

Tim Thornton has dropped an update on reported Leeds United transfer target Arnaud Kalimuendo.

In a recent interview with GIVEMESPORT, the Sky Sports reporter revealed that, following several reports linking Victor Orta with a €25m (£21m) move for the Paris Saint-Germain centre-forward in recent weeks, the 20-year-old is indeed a target of the Whites this summer.

However, the journalist went on to state that, with a number of other clubs also believed to be interested in a deal for the France U21 international ahead of the 2022/23 campaign, the Spanish director of football will have his work cut out if he is to convince the striker of a move to Elland Road.

Regarding the Whites’ attacking transfer targets, Thornton said:

“Kalimuendo, for example, there are a lot of clubs that have been looking at him, but I know his name came up a few weeks ago. Leeds, they’ll look at a lot of different options, so I suspect they’ve asked the question but obviously they’ll face competition if they want to pursue it.”

Considering just how talented a prospect Kalimuendo has proven himself to be over the last couple of years, Thornton’s confirmation that the striker’s name is one on Orta’s shortlist of attacking targets this summer is sure to be news the Elland Road faithful will love.

Indeed, the £16.2m-rated forward highly impressed over his 28 Ligue 1 appearances during a loan spell with RC Lens back in 2020/21, scoring seven goals, providing five assists and creating three big chances for his teammates, as well as taking an average of 1.2 shots, making 0.6 key passes and completing 0.9 dribbles per game.
