"I know" - Journalist teases Everton swoop for "perfect" £25m Premier League midfielder

Everton target Harry Winks may fancy playing under Frank Lampard at Goodison Park, says journalist Pete O’Rourke.

The Tottenham midfielder is thought to be a target for the Everton manager this summer, and O’Rourke can see a transfer happening.

According to The Telegraph, the Toffees want to sign Winks this transfer window as they look to improve their midfield.

The same outlet states that Lampard is keen to bring in at least four new names, including the Spurs player.

Chelsea youngster Conor Gallagher is another midfielder said to be on the 43-year-old’s list, though getting him out of Stamford Bridge this summer may be difficult.

As per football.london, the England international has been told that he will not be a bit-part player at the Blues next season, suggesting Thomas Tuchel has plans for him.

While Gallagher looks difficult, O’Rourke can see Winks moving to Everton, who have shown interest in him before, according to the journalist.

He said to GIVEMESPORT: “Yeah, you could see this one. I know that there has been previous interest from Everton in Winks, but he’s remained at Tottenham. I think, probably, Winks does need a new challenge to get his career back on track.

“It was not too long ago he was playing for England, so he might see playing under Frank Lampard, who was a great midfielder himself, and the chance to move to Everton, as a chance to kick-start his career again.”
