'I knew something was wrong with my son when he would only walk on his tip toes'

A mum has said how she knew something was wrong with her son after noticing he would only walk on his tip toes. Mum of three Lucy Oldland had an instinct her then one-year-old Logan son was 'different' after he refused to talk and would walk up on his tip toes 'all day long'.

After having two boys, Lucy, 42, said she had picked up on other signs which included Logan never playing with other children and not wanting to be cuddled or held. With no idea why he was acting the way he was, Lucy eventually found out her son had autism after he underwent a test aged two.

Now five-years-old, the mum said that Logan has improved since his diagnosis but is still non verbal which makes things very 'difficult' and 'sad'. She is now raising money to provide a dedicated speech and language therapist at her son's school.

"Logan never said anything or even babbled and was so fussy with his food. He did not play with any other kids at playgroup and would always be on his own in the corner.

"I could never cuddle him and he walked up on his tip toes all day long. It was hard especially not being touched, I'm his mum and being loved always has to be on his terms."

The 42-year-old said while she finds some days a challenge she keeps going so that her son gets the best life possible.

The mum-of-three said: "It is very difficult and at times can be sad
