'I could be wrong...' - Journalist now thinks 'first class' star will leave Celtic

The 6 ft 4-inch colossus was ruled out for 18 months when he collided with the post as he bravely cleared a goalbound effort in Celtic’s 3-0 win over Dundee United in December 2020 and suffered a serious knee injury which kept him out for 409 days until he made an emotional return to action in February in the Scottish Cup.

However, he hasn’t featured since, not even involved in the matchday squad for all but three league games this season. 

Now with his contract up at the end of next season, Swan feel he could be let go with a year left on his deal.

Speaking on the Record Celtic Podcast he said:

(27:14) “I don’t think he does. No, I think if Christopher Jullien had a future, I think you’d have seen him over the course. I know managers don’t like breaking up defences.

” I just think you would have seen more of Christopher Jullien If he was going to feature for Ange Postecoglou. I could be wrong. My gut feeling is I don’t see it. I just don’t see it.”

The Frenchman, who has been described as ‘first class’, was a regular in the team before his injury nightmare but Ange Postecoglou seems pretty set on his preferred tandem of Carl Starfelt and Cameron Carter-Vickers in the hear of the league’s best defence.

The Lennoxtown officials will most likely bring in new faces in defence to consolidate the foundations ahead of a return to Champions League football next season meaning Jullien could be left further down the pecking order but if the club can’t keep Carter-Vickers permanently then the 29-year-old could stick around.
