'I am never at peace!': Mosimane claims CAF boss Motsepe has hidden agenda against him

Pitso Mosimane decided to part ways with Al Ahly, ending his stay with the club as head coach at the 20-month mark in what has been an entertaining spell for the South African.

It surprised many football enthusiasts, especially as the 57-year-old penned a new two-year deal in March, which would have kept him at the club until at least 2024.

"Mosimane requested to leave and (said) that he is satisfied with the achievements he accomplished at the club," Al Ahly revealed in a statement released on Monday.

Jingles, as he is affectionately known, guided the Red Devils to five major trophies, winning the Egypt Cup (2019/20), CAF Champions League (2019/20, 2020/21) and the CAF Super Cup (2020, 2021).

In his letter after his departure was announced, Mosimane wrote that he and his team "delivered" despite having "encountered some bruises and scabs along the way."

Before ending his stay with Al Ahly, Mosimane returned to South Africa for a brief visit and spoke to various media outlets around the country.

On News Afrika, he was asked about CAF awarding Morocco the rights to host the Champions League final only after the semi-final first leg was played, which Mosimane and Al Ahly previously protested against in the lead-up to the big match.

"I have no comment on that. Why don't you ask the president himself? Everybody is asking me," Mosimane said at the time.

"Ask him why he changed the venue after Wydad had won against Petro de Luanda 3-1. You can ask him about all the issues regarding his lawyers sending me all these letters.

"It's not a secret, but everyone is asking me, and nobody is asking him."
