Hungarian GP: Sebastian Vettel helps repair Aston Martin for qualifying after FP3 crash

Sebastian Vettel joined in with the repair work to get his Aston Martin ready for qualifying at the Hungarian Grand Prix, after a crash in final practice.

The German has had a rather busy few days at the Hungarian GP, with him announcing on Thursday afternoon that he was intending to retire at the end of the 2022 season.

Indeed, with him facing a huge amount of attention and questions from the press in the time since, he’ll have no doubt been enjoying his time in the car this weekend and getting away from it all.

However, FP3 would provide some real concern for him before qualifying, with him sliding off of the wet circuit following a heavy downpour and into the barriers, causing some damage to the car with less than ten minutes of the session remaining.

Indeed, that sparked a red flag and surely red alert in the Aston garage, with them now having just a couple of hours to try and sort the car out and get it ready for qualifying.

That they would manage to do, though, with Vettel going old-school and helping repair the car where he could, in a bid to try and apologise to his team.
