Hull KR verdict: Rocking Robins deliver another glorious night during stunning ascent

Hull KR sealed their spot in the Challenge Cup semi-finals with a comfortable 34-10 win over Castleford Tigers at Craven Park.

Here’s the verdict.

The Robins were flying high in confidence coming into this quarter-final clash after two straight wins and it told in the opening minutes as they rolled Castleford down the field and got themselves over the line through Elliot Minchella.

Chasing through the line, the loose-forward got himself on the end of a deft Rowan Milnes grubber before touching down under the posts.

Castleford couldn’t deal with the intensity and work rate of Rovers in the opening 20 minutes or so and Minchella thought he had a second after hitting a crash ball off the ruck and reaching over the line.

Greg Eden made the most of some poor defending from Jimmy Keinhorst to touch down in the corner and he did it again just before the interval to leave Rovers with a two-point lead at the break.

The first try of the second half was always going to be big and it went to KR, as Ryan Hall showed the pace to beat Mahe Fonua on the overlap and touch down acrobatically in the corner.
