Hull FC injury news as Brett Hodgson welcomes back key men and confirms Kane Evans injury

Hull FC boss Brett Hodgson is preparing to welcome back five players into his squad to take on St Helens this week.

travel to Merseyside on Friday night and they’ll be boosted by the return of their senior half-backs Josh Reynolds and Luke Gale. The pair have both spent time on the sidelines through suspension, but they are eligible to take on Saints this week.

Hodgson also expects to welcome Adam Swift and Josh Griffin back into the fold after overcoming the respective injuries they picked up in the Hull derby last month. Griffin has missed the last three games with an ankle issue, while Swift has been struggling with a foot problem.

“We’ve got a number coming back which is pleasing,” Hodgson said. “Luke Gale, Josh (Reynolds), Josh Griffin, Adam Swift and Josh Bowden are all available.

“Cam Scott is still a week away probably, so we have a number back in contention. There’s a couple of tough decisions that I have to make and at the moment we’re in a good position, we’re winning games and whoever plays we can rely on.”

However, the head coach has confirmed that he expects to be without Kane Evans at the Totally Wicked Stadium. The prop suffered a minor pectoral strain while lifting weights at the club’s County Road training ground, but he isn’t expected to be out for too long.

“Kane Evans might be missing out with a slight strain of his pec,” Hodgson admitted. “It’s nothing substantial but it possibly might keep him out of this week.”

FC will also be without Ben McNamara who has been struggling with a back issue over the last few weeks. The young playmaker will see a specialist next week to examine the problem and to help ease the pain he is experiencing.
