Hull FC announce permanent training ground move to the University of Hull

Hull FC have announced a permanent training ground move to the University of Hull which will see the entire club move base. Leaving their current County Road site, the move will include a rugby league performance, education and community hub, plus a new Centre of Excellence.

Moving to the university, the clubs entire pathways from grassroots to first team will make the transition, which will see current University of Hull students offered work placements in key fields such as sports science, coaching, analysis and media.

In total, the project is costing £1.5m, and had received support from Hull City Council and other funding partners. It will be amongst the best rugby league facilities in this country and create a home for the clubs growing number of teams and community activities.

The newly and purpose-built hub will give the club a long-term base within the city, whilst also benefiting from the universities world class facilities. A huge step up, the club expect to be at the facility for at least twenty years.

The facility is an official partner of Team GB and already has strong connections with rugby league after hosting the final of the Wheelchair Challenge Cup last month. Among the facilities are a high-performance gym, indoor sports arena, sports science laboratories, wrestle areas, video analysis suites, four artificial playing surfaces and over 11 grass pitches.
