Hull City's summer transfer plans revealed as Tigers prioritise four deals
Hull City are set for a busy summer of transfer activity both in and out of the MKM Stadium, following Acun Ilicali’s takeover in January. Eight players are out of contract at the Tigers with their futures up in the air after a season of struggle in the Championship.
The club are keen to turn themselves from strugglers into challengers over the course of the next season and will target a goalkeeper, two wingers and a centre forward as a priority, in a bid to enjoy a stronger campaign next term, Hull Live understands.
Goals have been a huge problem for City this season managing just 33 in their 40 league games so far, with owner Acun Ilicali already confirming his intention to invest in a marksman capable of solving a very obvious problem.
Tom Eaves and Mallik Wilks are two of the out of contract eight, and in the case of the latter, with no start since the middle of December. It would not be a huge surprise to see 23-year-old Wilks depart, while Eaves’ daft dismissal just before half-time against Huddersfield Town will have done little to enhance his prospects of earning a new deal.
In goal, Matt Ingram has confirmed that he’s yet to hear anything from the club about fresh terms which on the face of it doesn’t bode too well for the future, but with Nathan Baxter set to return to Chelsea at the end of his loan spell, City seeking another goalkeeper will mean one of those will not be retained.
Perhaps the most eye-catching of the areas targeted by City come on the flanks. Ryan Longman and Keane Lewis-Potter have done the lions’ share of work from wide areas this term, but with Lewis-Potter possibly securing a Premier League move in the summer, it certainly opens up a space on that side of the pitch which head coach Shota
