Hull City boss outlines key transfer wish as Tigers close in on latest signing

Shota Arveladze hopes to have good news on the hunt for further additions up front ahead of Tuesday night's trip to take on promotion favourites Burnley at Turf Moor.

The Tigers, who beat Norwich City 2-1 on Saturday to make it three games unbeaten at the start of the Championship season, hope to be able to include Ryan Woods in their squad for the trip to Lancashire, and Arveladze hopes Halil Dervişoğlu will soon join him with City edging closer to striking a deal.

Dervişoğlu was left out of Brentford's squad for the 4-0 thrashing of Manchester United on Saturday teatime, as he nears a move to the MKM Stadium, and Arveladze hopes the Turkish international frontman will become the latest addition to the Tigers' growing army of summer recruits.

"We will be busy in the market, we are going to bring some players in to make it happen," he said. "He (Dervişoğlu) brings quality and gives us more options as there are games and games - it never stops."

The arrival of Thimothee Lo-Tutala last week saw the number of summer arrivals reach nine, and with Woods expected to be confirmed on Monday, the signing of Dervişoğlu would take the tally to 10.

City remain in the market for defensive cover and will likely sign a right-back to compete with Lewie Coyle before the transfer deadline on September 1, and they are still keen for an attack-minded playmaker, and their activity will not stop there with more additions likely before the end of the month.

Meanwhile, Hull Live understands the club are set to announce the arrival of Adama Traore.
