Huge queues on M60 after crash stops all traffic

There are huge queues on a stretch of the M60 this morning after a crash.

Traffic was being held on the anti-clockwise carriageway at junction nine for Trafford Park. All traffic was released after an hour, just after 9.30am, but there are still large queues up to nine miles long because of the closures.

Long delays are building. A tweet posted by National Highways said: "The #M60 anti-clockwise within J9 (#TraffordPark), traffic has been temporarily STOPPED due to a collision.

"There is currently approx. 8 miles of congestion on approach, causing delays of 30 minutes above usual journey times."

There are now 'severe delays' of more than an hour up to junction 9.

Traffic is queuing for around 13 miles.

Inrix is reporting congestion back from junction 9 to junction 19 on the anti-clockwise carriageway.

According to traffic alert service Inrix, traffic is now queuing for 11 miles up to the incident.

Travel time through the area is around 40 minutes.
