"Huge" - Journalist drops claim as big Liverpool injury update emerges before Arsenal

Having Mohamed Salah in the starting XI against Arsenal will be a huge lift to the entire Liverpool team, according to journalist Pete O’Rourke.

The £90m-rated attacker was forced off against Brighton on Saturday, which raised concerns over his fitness ahead of the trip to the Gunners tonight.

It was another productive afternoon for the Reds, who claimed an eighth Premier League victory on the bounce to move within touching distance of Manchester City in the race for the title.

Luis Diaz headed home from Joel Matip’s pass to break the deadlock before Naby Keita won a penalty that Salah swept home for his 20th league goal of the season.

However, Salah’s joy was short-lived after he was forced off moments later with a foot injury and was replaced Diogo Jota just past the hour mark.

With the trip to the Emirates just four days away, there were early doubts over whether Salah would be fit enough to start in North London.

But Klopp described the attacker as a “tough cookie” and all-but confirmed that he’ll be available to feature against Mikel Arteta’s side.

“It looks like Mo is a tough cookie. We were quite lucky with it,” the Liverpool boss said. “It was swollen and painful but yesterday a little less swollen, less painful.

“I got a message before the press conference that he is ready to train, and we will see how it looks.”

He told GIVEMESPORT: “Having Mo Salah, the top scorer in the Premier League, fit and available, is only going to boost Liverpool’s title chances and they will need him against an in-form Arsenal, so it’ll be a huge lift if Salah is in that starting line-up.”
