Huge Indian restaurant and shisha bar set across two floors to open this week

A huge new Indian restaurant and shisha bar spanning two floors is to open in Greater Manchester in time for Valentine’s Day this week.

Popular Indian restaurant Noir, which opened its first location in South Woodford in East London in 2021, has announced it has partnered with London shisha bar Basrah Lounge to open its first North West spot in Trafford Park.

The ambitious Noir Manchester venue will pair Indian street food, like Indian-style pasta and pani puri, with premium shisha. Regarded as Noir’s biggest venue to date, it will feature space for 350 guests across two floors and two shisha lounges.

Small plates include raja poori tacos, tempura chilli prawns and the popular 'Bang Bang Boti', which features chicken tikka coated in tempura crumbs and served with pickled cucumbers. Main dishes will include the likes of tandoori steak, braised lamb shank, butter chicken, cod curry, a creamy butter black lentil dal, and noir-style lasagne served with a tandoori paneer, mushroom and corn butter masala.

There will also be deserts, including cakes and puddings, and a range of non-alcoholic cocktails on the menu. Noir’s Managing Director Ardy Ardakani said the Manchester venue is expected to be the first in a number of rollouts for the restaurant group. Alongside further locations in London,
