Huge cordon in place on main road as moped left crushed in crash

A huge cordon is in place on a main road in Oldham this evening following crash. A moped has been left completely crushed after the smash on Manchester Road.

Police have taped off the road at the junction with Heron Street and Spencer Street. Multiple other vehicles have also been pictured within the cordon including a car, bus and van.

A huge emergency services presence is at the scene, including ambulances and police vans. Officers have been seen conducting enquiries within the cordon.

A moped also appears to have been badly damaged in the incident, with debris strewn across the road.

Greater Manchester Police have been approached for details on the collision and condition of those involved.

Multiple vehicles were reportedly involved in the crash on Manchester Road tonight.

A badly damaged moped is within the cordon, as well as a car with a partly crushed bonnet.

A van and another car are also within the cordon, as well as a double-decker bus.

Pictures from the cordon this evening show a car bonnet also crushed after appearing to have been involved.

A major scene is in place with Greater Manchester Police remaining in attendance.

Witnesses at the scene have reported that the driver of the moped, thought to have been a man, was rushed to hospital from the scene of the collision earlier this evening.
