Huge boost: Sky Sports man hints at early Leeds team news

It looks like Leeds United will have a massive boost this weekend ahead of their trip to Brentford as Patrick Bamford looks set to be in contention to feature in the final game of the season as the Whites look to fight off relegation to the Championship.

Jesse Marsch’s side are currently in the bottom three on goal difference, but will realistically have to better the result of relegation rivals Burnley to stay in the league.

With that in mind, the imminent return of Bamford will surely be a huge boost for the Whites, with the forward set to feature, according to injury expert and Sky Sports contributor Ben Dinnery.

Dinnery was talking on his latest injury round-up show, going on to claim the following on Bamford: “He could be involved. In fact, I suggest that he will be included in that matchday squad.

“He has trained as expected this week. He’s on schedule, it’s going to be a case of how many minutes he can possibly undertake on Sunday, but again, a lot of that may be driven by the result on the pitch at the time.

“He’s certainly put himself up there in with a shout of a start.”

TIF Thoughts on Patrick Bamford’s chances of playing this weekend…

If Bamford can play a substantial part in proceedings on Sunday, Leeds may well have a good chance of doing their part this weekend. He has only managed nine games this season through injury, scoring on two occasions, so it’s clearly been a frustrating campaign for the forward.

Last season, he played all 38 Premier League games and got 17 goals and eight assists, so he is clearly important to the Whites. Without him, a large chunk of goals need to be replaced, so his return could just be in the nick of time.
