Tottenham Hotspur are expected to be without three members of their first-team squad for their trip to Burnley in the Premier League this evening…

Antonio Conte’s side will be looking to continue on from their impressive, last-gasp victory over defending champions and current league leaders Manchester City on Saturday evening when they return to Lancashire for this rearranged fixture.

But the Italian will have to do without a trio of players, as revealed by The Evening Standard’s Dan Kilpatrick, who relayed comments from the pre-game press conference at Hotspur Way to social media.

He said:

“#thfc Team news: Conte says [Oliver] Skipp & [Japhet] Tanganga are still unavailable vs Burnley. Adds that he thinks [Sergio] Reguilon, who did not train yesterday, will also be out again.”

This will be frustrating news to Conte, who could probably do with having all three players available as his outfit sit seven points adrift of fourth place with three games in hand, one of which is tonight.

They can nearly halve the gap with three points against the Clarets but two of the three names missing would usually be among the first names on the team sheet.

Reguilon has impressed ever since his move from Real Madrid in the summer of 2020 and has emerged as Conte’s first-choice left wing-back, where he has provided plenty of creativity in the final third along with solid defensive attributes, too.

The 25-year-old is currently third in the squad for assists (three) behind Heung-min Son (five) and Lucas Moura (four) and sits second for chances created (1.2 key passes per game), via WhoScored.
