Huddersfield Town players told what they must do better after goalless draw at Preston North End

Carlos Corberan admits his side did not deserve to get more than a point out of Wednesday evening's trip to Preston North End.

The Huddersfield Town head coach was pleased with what he saw defensively in the goalless draw at Deepdale after a tricky opening period, but felt his side lacked the required class and incision to open up the Preston defence.

In our estimation, getting a draw away to a side who have lost just once since December was a decent return for Town - but with a playoff place on the line, Corberan understandably insists that his side need to target victory in every game they face between now and the end of the season.

He said after the game: "The result was a fair result - something that's not positive to tell you, because we wanted to come here with the idea to go for the three points.

"But I think the key to that game, how you can change a game that was so physical, was with the ball.

"Every time you have the ball you have the opportunity to dominate the ball, to decide the tempo of the game and to create chances.

"For me we didn't find enough fluidity or harmony at this point to allow us to change the dynamic of the game.

"As soon as the ball is more physical and you start to find solutions with the ball in the middle of the pitch, it allows you to be a team who is more aggressive with transitions and create some problems.

"From a defensive point of view I saw the team suffering a bit in the first 15 minutes because [Preston] were trying to move our centre-backs and find space in behind us.

"Even if [Preston] didn't create chances at the end, they started to get throw-ins in our half that made us more focused on defending than on attack.
