How Tyson Fury is related to Tommy Fury explained
WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury is from a boxing family.
Fury is preparing to face former UFC champion Francis Ngannou in the ring this weekend as he puts his undefeated record on the line. That fight is expected to be followed by an undisputed title fight with Oleksandr Usyk as Fury looks to grow his legacy in the sport.
Named after boxing legend Mike Tyson, Fury was always destined to be a professional boxer. He was trained by his father, John, from an early age, who also earned a pro record of 8-4-1.
Fury will have plenty of family around him as he takes on Ngannou in Saudi Arabia, including former Love Island star and cruiserweight boxer Tommy Fury. Asked for his prediction of Tyson’s fight with Ngannou, he told TNT Sports: “Honestly, if [Tyson] wants to get it done in 30 seconds, he can do. But if he wants to put on a show for the fans, he will do. I think it’s Tyson’s game and whatever he wants to do on Saturday, he’ll do.”

Tommy, who first rose to fame as a contestant on Love Island, is Tyson’s half-brother, with both men sharing the same father. The 24-year-old has built up his 10-0 record by defeating influencer boxers Jake Paul and KSI, but is not the only one of Fury’s siblings that has stepped into the ring.
Roman Fury (2-0) also started his professional boxing career in 2022, while fellow brother Shane has worked as a boxing trainer. Meanwhile, Tyson’s cousin Hughie Fury is a 26-3 heavyweight, who last fought in 2021.
WBC heavyweight champion Fury is also a cousin of Nathan Gorman, as well as retired boxer Hosea Burton
