How to watch Birmingham vs Rangers: Live stream and kick off details for Trevor Francis memorial match

It's pre-season friendly number four for Rangers as they head to the Midlands for the next stage of their preparations.

Birmingham City are the opposition on what is sure to be a poignant occasion for both clubs. The game itself is in tribute to the late Trevor Francis, Britain's first £1million footballer, who died last year. The striker began his professional career with the Blues, scoring 118 goals in 280 appearances for the St Andrew's club before making his record breaking move to Nottingham Forest following a loan spell with Detroit Express.

He netted the winning goal in the 1979 European Cup Final victory over Malmo in Munich, heading home on his European debut. Spells with Man City, Sampdoria and Atalanta followed before Francis joined Gers in 1987 on a 'pay as you play' basis, picking up a League Cup winners medal before joining QPR six months after arriving at Ibrox.

He sadly passed away a year to the day of the game, suffering a heart attack at his Spanish home near Marbella. Philippe Clement now takes his team to the Second City for the game in Francis' honour, but also to further fine tune his squad's fitness and match sharpness during what as been a turbulent summer in Govan.

The game takes place on Wednesday, July 24. Kick-off is 7.30pm.
