How Paul Pogba reacted to Cristiano Ronaldo's return to Manchester United

Paul Pogba has revealed his mind was on the Ballon d’Or when Cristiano Ronaldo made his return to Manchester United.

Pogba’s reaction to Ronaldo’s return is included in the midfielder’s new Amazon Prime documentary. ‘Pogmentary’ gives a behind-the-scenes look at the 29-year-old’s life as he nears his exit from Old Trafford.

The France international will leave United for a second time this summer, with his contract expiring at the end of the month. Pogba is set to make a return to Juventus.

Pogba’s departure from United has been on the cards for some time, although at the start of the season his future remained up in the air. Ronaldo’s return to Old Trafford was then seen as a potential incentive for the midfielder to stay where he was, with United seemingly building for a title challenge.

Pogba also reveals during the documentary that he had his sights set on winning the Ballon d’Or. The moment Ronaldo arrived back at United, the France international saw an opportunity to learn what it takes to win the coveted prize.

“The first thing I thought was 'how do you train with a Ballon d’Or winner?’,” Pogba said. “It’s a good challenge to see him train, what he does, what’s life like for a Ballon d’Or winner?”

Of course, the season didn’t pan out how United had hoped as they slumped to a sixth-place finish in the Premier League. Furthermore, Pogba endured yet another inconsistent season, leaving fans frustrated once again.
