How much Bolton Wanderers, Wigan Athletic, Sunderland, Portsmouth & League One spent on agent fees

FA accounts detailing agent and intermediary fees in 2021/22 have been published with figures now available for Bolton Wanderers and the rest of League One.

The final number for all League One clubs relates to permanent signings, new registrations, contract extensions and incoming loan fees between February 2, 2021 and January 31, 2022. It takes in the last two transfer windows between the summer and January.

The figures show that clubs in the third tier of English football spent more than £4.4m on agents fees in that period.

Sheffield Wednesday, relegated from the Championship last season, were the biggest spenders in that time with just over £796,224 spent in that time, followed not far behind by Ipswich Town with a spend of £779,739,

Wanderers meanwhile spent a total of £115,135 in that time, while Wigan Athletic's spend in that time equates to £355,774.

League One leaders Rotherham United spent £154,612, while fellow automatic promotion hopefuls MK Dons spent £140,994.

Sunderland have spent £310,244 in that time, while Portsmouth spent £194,124 over the period according to the figures.

At the other end of the scale, Crewe Alexandra spent just £3,750 on intermediaires fees and boast the lowest figures out of the 24 teams in the third tier of English football.
