How Manchester United should line up vs Brentford in Premier League fixture

Manchester United welcome Brentford to Old Trafford on Monday night.

It will be United's first game since last week's announcement that interim boss Ralf Rangnick will become manager of Austria's national side. Rangnick will continue in his consultancy role and the German said he wants to help 'United become a real force again'.

Rangnick has just three games remaining as interim manager. United drew 1-1 against Chelsea on Thursday night, despite the London club's dominance in the match, and they'll be hoping to deliver an improved performance against Brentford. Alejandro Garnacho made his United debut versus Chelsea and more youngsters from the academy could be handed opportunities tonight.

So, how should United line up? Here's what our MEN writers think.

Samuel Luckhurst

Dean Henderson can get a start as he has not played in the league all season. Alvaro Fernandez would enliven the defence and Nemanja Matic has earned an Old Trafford farewell after some passable performances. Fred can come in for Scott McTominay.

Juan Mata has brought verve to the attack in some of his recent cameos and could link up productively with Cristiano Ronaldo. Hannibal Mejbri and Alejandro Garnacho have not been fazed by playing at Old Trafford for the junior teams and now deserve a chance from the start for the first-team.

Tyrone Marshall

The youngsters were always unlikely to see much action against Chelsea, but their minutes should step up between now and the end of the season. This certainly feels like a chance to start Hannibal and Garnacho and I'd be considering others off the bench.
