How Manchester United should line up vs Arsenal in Premier League fixture

Manchester United take on Arsenal at the Emirates in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

It will be the first time United have played since Erik ten Hag was officially confirmed as United's permanent manager on Thursday afternoon. Ten Hag joins United on a three-year contract with the option of an additional year.

United are fighting to secure Champions League football across their remaining five Premier League fixtures. Arsenal are competing with United for that final place in the top four and they head into this game after an impressive 4-2 win against Chelsea.

Samuel Luckhurst

The prospect of having to pick one of Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Alex Telles on current form is too grim. Alvaro Fernandez has trained with the first-team this week and is a left-back with potential. Harry Maguire cannot start after Anfield.

Scott McTominay and Nemanja Matic is a decent support base for Hannibal Mejbri. Bruno Fernandes has been atrocious since he got an unnecessary salary hike.

Cristiano Ronaldo has to return and Jadon Sancho has to start. The other attacking slot is a toss-up between Anthony Elanga and Marcus Rashford, both poor at Anfield. Elanga might be the more compatible option.

Tyrone Marshall

The safety-first back three was a disaster at Anfield and United have to go back to a 4-3-3 for a game they simply have to win.

Varane has to return to the side now he's fit, partnering Maguire, with Dalot at right-back and Telles at left-back. The full-backs remain a major area for concern.

McTominay can also return straight away in midfield and Lingard
