How is ex-Stoke City manager Johan Boskamp getting on at the moment?

Johan Boskamp was drafted in by Stoke back in 2005 in a bid to try and get the team promoted to the Premier League – and it didn’t quite pan out the way that the club would have liked.

Despite his appointment catching the eye and garnering some attention, he lasted only a year at the club and never made the impact that the side would have liked.

Taking charge of 49 games, he had a points per match average of 1.24 and lost more games than he managed to win during the campaign that he was at the helm. It ultimately led to the two parties going their separate ways as quickly as they had come together.

After that spell in England then, how did Boskamp get on and what is he up to now?

He headed straight to Standard Liege but that spell went even worse than his time at the Potters, as he managed only a handful of games at the helm before making the move to FCV Dender EH in Belgium.

He managed two years there, which was longer than his Stoke stint but only ever managed an average of 1.15 PPG with them too. When they too decided to part ways – with Boskamp himself deciding to leave – he stayed in the country with KSK Beveren.

After just 18 games with them too though, Boskamp had had enough and the former manager has now put away the tie and is no longer a manager.

That last role in charge of a club came back in 2009 and he’s spent the time since letting other bosses get the work done instead – and he can now enjoy his retirement after a successful playing career.
