How is Cyrus Christie getting on since leaving Fulham in January?

The Irish full back failed to feature for the club in its Premier League campaign last year, and only appeared seven times in this year’s Championship season.

Christie signed for Fulham in 2017, and was an important squad player during his time at the club.

His most prominent season came during Fulham’s promotion in 2019-20, when he played a total of 24 league games as the Cottagers won the play-offs.

Christie’s wages were seen as a stumbling block to aiding his exit from the club, but he took a pay cut this January to join Swansea City on a loan until the end of the season.

Christie’s contract with Fulham runs out at the end of the campaign, so he will be free to move clubs in the summer.

Since arriving in Wales on January 13, Christie has featured in all seven of Swansea’s games.

In that time, he has made the right wing-back position his own having replaced Ethan Laird, who was recalled by his parent club earlier in the month.

In those seven games, Swansea have lost three times, drawn twice and won the other two.

The highlight of those games came as Swansea beat promotion chasing Blackburn Rovers 1-0 on February 5.

Fulham will be happy to see him getting game time in the Championship, but it is unlikely they will be feeling his absence given the form that the Cottagers are in at the moment, with promotion back to the Premier League looking all but certain.
