Arsenal are set for another transfer window where the focus will be placed predominantly on overhauling the squad.

The Gunners began the process of shifting out many first-team players last summer who the club deemed surplus to requirements, along with adding young players who are tailored to the modern game and fit into Mikel Arteta's style of football, which is commonly known as positional play.

An area in which the Gunners are definitely planning to strengthen is at centre forward.

Dusan Vlahovic was heavily linked with a move to the Emirates in the January window but the Serbian ended up at Italian giants Juventus.

The likes of Alexandar Isak, Dominic Calvert Lewin and Jonathan David are rumoured to be targets previously but perhaps Arteta's men might make a move for Real Madrid striker Luka Jovic.

Recent developments have suggested that Arsenal are among a quintet of clubs across Europe who are interested in acquiring his signature.

The 24-year-old arrived at Real Madrid from German club Eintracht Frankfurt in the summer of 2019 in a big-money deal worth £50 million but has looked a shadow of his former self, struggling to inspire any sort of confidence on the pitch.

But Serbian footballer isn't the first player to have struggled to deliver an impact for the Spanish giants and perhaps the move was far too early for him.
