Hovland sizzles on back nine as Lowry repairs some damage

Viktor Hovland produced some stunning golf on the back nine at the Hero World Challenge in Albany to provide a three-shot cushion over Scottie Scheffler heading into the final round.

The Norwegian sits on 13-under-par after that blistering 64, with Scheffler three shots back after an impressive 66 that included an eagle on 15.

It's Hovland who they will be chasing though with six birdies on seven holes between 11 and 17 putting him in a strong position.

A good day was soured slightly however by a closing bogey.

Shane Lowry’s interest in challenging at the 20-player contest is long over after rounds of 74 and 77 before the weekend, but he did improve on Saturday with a one-under-par 71 moving him to 18th position.

It could have been much better too only for a double bogey at 16 but a closing birdie moved him to six-over-par for the tournament.
