Hovland leads Hero Challenge, while Lowry struggles

Viktor Hovland moved one shot clear at the top of the leaderboard at the Tiger Woods'-hosted Hero World Challenge in the Bahamas.

The European Ryder Cup player was in a share for the lead following the first round, and added a two-under 70 on day two to sit top at the half-way stage.

The Norwegian enjoys a one-shot lead over a quartet of Americans sharing second place - Scottie Scheffler, Xander Schauffele, Collin Morikawa and Cameron Young are all four under heading into the weekend.

Shane Lowry is in a tie for 19th in the 20-man field, shooting a five-over 77 to go with his opening round 74.

The 2019 Open champion's round fell apart on the fifth and sixth holes, where he posted double bogey followed by a triple bogey eight.
