Hour-by-hour forecast for Greater Manchester as clouds begin to dominate the week

When it comes to the weather, Greater Manchester has experienced a tumultuous weekend - experiencing the summer-like sun and a thunderstorm warning in the span of a couple of days.

Unfortunately, according to the Met Office, this week will similarly have a chaotic forecast. At the start of the week, conditions will be dry and warm, however, there will be little to no sun with dark clouds predominantly covering the sky.

Mancunians will begin to experience more "areas of heavy rain or slow-moving thundery showers" develop with sunny intervals throughout the middle of the week. Thankfully, today's forecast will provide a bit of a break from the bad weather experienced over the weekend.

The Met Office said: "Any early rain will soon clear leaving all areas with a dry and brighter day. Some sunny periods developing in the afternoon, as the cloud thins and breaks. Feeling warmer with slightly higher temperatures. Maximum temperature 17 °C." For tonight: "Some evening sunshine, leading on to a dry night with clear spells, especially in the west. Areas of cloud may feed westwards into Pennine areas later. Minimum temperature 7 °C"

However, people should still prepare themselves for the rest of the week, with the Met Office stating: "Areas of heavy rain or slow-moving thundery showers on Wednesday. Drier and brighter on Thursday, but further outbreaks of rain on Friday. Windier by the end of the week."
