Hoteline tells incensed Rangers punters there is NO Ibrox crisis but simple Celtic reality they’ll have to accept

Plenty of Rangers fans have been desperate to see time called on James Tavernier's time at the club but supporters were united in condemning the supporter who turned up to hurl abuse at the captain at Ibrox on Sunday in the wake of the Old Firm derby defeat.

The 3-0 loss wasn't easy for light blue legions to stomach and they are desperate to see a reaction. Tavernier is the man who will have to lead them but he was targeted and then confronted by a raging fan outside the Govan ground on their return to the stadium on Sunday. Ibrox legend Graeme Souness pleaded for calm and the actions of those who dished out the abuse has left some supporters sickened.

Bill Wilkinson, Airdrie, was not so happy about the recent abuse towards the team and said: "Regarding the so-called Rangers supporters who turned up at Ibrox to abuse their team, do they not realise how much the players were hurting? After a defeat from our biggest rivals the players needed to know the fans would stand behind them. What message does the abuse send to future signings never mind the new players who came in recently? I would like to think the real Rangers supporters will show the players how loyal Rangers supporters can be. As for the clown who abused Tavernier he should stay away as that is not the kind of person we want at Ibrox. Tav stuck by us when others didn't."

Derek Maclachlan said: "I'm a diehard Rangers fan and some of these players are really poor. James Tavernier looks past it. Mohamed Diomande is shocking and not worth £4.5million. Ross McCausland should be not in first team - he is very poor. Robin Propper is rubbish and drop Jack Butland and give Liam Kelly a chance."
