'Hot seat rankings' for all 16 SEC coaches as beginning of 2026 college football season draws nearer

At the beginning of every college football season, there are always a few questions that are on every fan's mind.

One of which is "who looks like they can win it all every season," but since I already addressed that earlier this week, I'm here to tackle the second most popular question: which coaches are on the hot seat heading into fall?

More specifically, I wanted to look at every coach from the SEC and give them a "hot seat ranking" based on their job security in 2026.

I will be lumping all 16 SEC coaches into one of five categories that should give everyone an idea of where these guys stand before the start of the season.

We have a lot to get to, so let's get this hot seat party started.

The SEC has six "new" coaches among its ranks in 2026, and the reason I put a heavy set of quotations around that word is because some of these guys have already been coaches in the conference.

Obviously, Lane Kiffin was previously at Ole Miss for six years and even had an infamous stop in Knoxville for one season to coach the Tennessee Vols, but if we want to get technical, the Rebels have a "returning" SEC coach of their own in Pete Golding.
